Analysis of Industrial LV Electricity Supply was carried out by PQIS for Food Processing Business in Ipswich.
The graphs below illustrate a low power factor and a high reactive power KVAR, causing Maximum Demand KVA to be greater than KW.
A LV Supply with a low factor will suffer larger KW losses with the maximum demand achieved inflated above the KW demand.
To solve low power factor a 2 x 300KVAR SVG units were installed to the main LV Distribution board.
After commissioning of the SVG units, the LV Supply achieved a consistent 0.99 Power Factor and a large maximum demand reduction.
This will improve the electrical environment for equipment onsite to mitigate failure.
Electricity costs and capacity of the supply have been significantly improved.
